Structure of Wire slab heating furnace

 

The Wire slab heating furnace mainly consists of: a series resonant medium-frequency power supply (or silicon-controlled rectifier), an automatic loading system (including a storage table), an automatic feeding system (roller feeding), the induction heating furnace body, a temperature detection system, a temperature closed-loop system, etc.

 

Features of Inductor of Wire slab heating furnace

 

(1)The inlet and outlet ends of the inductor are provided with 5mm slotted water-cooled copper plates to protect the inductor end plates from damage.
(2)After the copper induction coils are wound, each undergoes a hydrostatic pressure test to ensure no leakage. The inductor and the busbar are water-cooled with reliable contact, preventing overheating caused by poor contact.
(3)Quick-change water and electrical connectors are adopted: The water inlet and outlet pipes are assembled on the inductor body with stainless steel quick-change couplings, making replacement very easy. A protective cover is installed above the outlet busbar.
(4)The busbars of Wire slab heating furnace are connected using clamp-type connections, which are convenient to assemble, not prone to overheating, and allow rapid disassembly when replacing the inductor coil without hindering the quick movement of the inductor.
(5)The external dimensions of each inductor section are standardized. Positioning fixtures are used during manufacturing to ensure accurate alignment during assembly, and inductors of the same type are fully interchangeable.
(6)Water temperature protection system: The induction coil generates high temperatures during operation; inadequate protection may lead to equipment failures. Each return water pipe of the inductor is equipped with a temperature detection switch. When the water temperature exceeds the rated value, the control system immediately issues an alarm and shuts down the intermediate frequency power supply.
(7)During furnace operation, the outer surface temperature of the inductor (except near the two end openings) remains safe and reliable, with no risk of burns.
(8)To facilitate furnace body replacement, stainless steel ball valves and quick-change couplings are installed directly between the furnace body and the lower electrical cabinet. All flexible hoses used are high-pressure carbon-free tubes, with inlet and outlet pipes color-coded for identification: red for hot water and blue for cold water.
(9)Inductor inner diameter specifications of Wire slab heating furnace: The inner diameter of the copper induction coil requires a furnace lining to protect the copper coil. The heating effect is determined by the coil's inner diameter. The general design standard is: workpiece size + 60 mm = coil inner diameter. The furnace lining must have sufficient strength to avoid cracking or deformation during heating operation. Sufficient clearance must be maintained between the lining inner diameter and the billet diameter to ensure smooth billet passage without contacting the lining. Consideration should also be given to billet size variations and the possibility of billets bowing during pushing due to uneven end faces, which may cause contact and wear on the lining. Therefore, with a fixed coil inner diameter, a smaller lining inner diameter (while maintaining lining strength) is more favorable for the workpiece.
(10)To ensure the efficiency of the induction coil, reduce leakage flux per unit area, and increase magnetic flux density, our company adopts a millimeter-level inter-turn winding process for the induction coil. This process places high demands on the overall coil manufacturing workmanship.
(11)At the water outlets of the induction coil, multiple water temperature sensors are installed separately for each water circuit. When a blockage occurs in a particular circuit causing the water temperature to rise excessively, an alarm is immediately triggered, and power supply of Wire slab heating furnace can be automatically shut down.
