Structure Of The Vacuum Melting Furnace

The core of a vacuum melting furnace consists of five major modules: a double-walled, water-cooled, and sealed furnace body; a vacuum system; a heating system (induction, arc, or resistance); a crucible; and a control system.

 

Furnace Body System: Features a double-walled, water-cooled structure made of 304/316L stainless steel; the inner layer withstands high temperatures, while the outer layer circulates cooling water for temperature control (keeping the casing below 35°C). It is equipped with a flanged sealing lid, an observation window (quartz or sapphire), and ports for sampling and material feeding.


Vacuum System: Composed of a mechanical pump in series with a diffusion pump or molecular pump; includes vacuum valves, piping, and vacuum gauges, typically achieving an ultimate vacuum level in the 10⁻² to 10⁻³ Pa range.


Utilizes an all-stainless steel, water-cooled furnace body structure, with an outer casing temperature maintained below 35°C.
Equipped with a plug-in thermocouple, a multi-lens rotating observation window, and a secondary alloy feeder.
Features a sampling device and a tilting mechanism; supports melting under various atmospheric conditions.
