Forging Rolling Mill

In order to complete the processing from rough billet to finished product, a continuous rolling mill train is typically composed of multiple functional parts:

(1) Forging rolling mill stands and arrangement: Forging rolling mill consists of multiple stands (e.g., 2 to 7 stands) arranged in a longitudinal series. Stand types include two-high (simple structure), four-high (high rigidity, suitable for finishing rolling), as well as alternating vertical-horizontal arrangements or three-stand tandem mills (vertical-horizontal-vertical) designed to improve workpiece bite and deformation capability.

(2) Key auxiliary equipment of Forging rolling mill: Forging rolling mill includes descaling devices (such as high-pressure water descaling for removing surface oxide scale), flying shears (for cropping head and tail ends or emergency sectioning), and cooling and coiling systems (for finished product cooling and collection).

In actual industrial practice, "continuous rolling" is often combined with specific process routes, among which continuous casting and continuous rolling (CC–CR) is a highly representative type. Forging rolling mill refers to the process in which cast slabs produced by a continuous casting machine are directly (or after simple heating and soaking) fed into the continuous rolling mill train for rolling, eliminating intermediate steps such as slab cooling and reheating, thereby achieving a short-process, high-efficiency, and energy-saving production route from molten steel to finished product.
