Application of Induction Melting Equipment in Foundry Enterprises
Cast Iron Melting Production Line of Iron scrap melting furnace
Iron and steel foundries are the main application field of Iron scrap melting furnace. Compared with cupolas, coreless furnaces (i.e., crucible furnaces) have become more common. Likewise, channel induction furnaces are more commonly used for holding and pouring. The production line from melting to pouring is described. The following are the main methods for providing molten iron to be poured:
Melting is completed in a Iron scrap melting furnace, transferred by ladle, with magnesium treatment being applied as required, and then the molten iron enters an induction-heated pouring furnace or a ladle pouring system to complete pouring. In specific cases, a channel induction furnace is used in between to hold the molten iron.
After melting in a cupola, the molten iron flows through a runner into a channel induction furnace for holding, with a desulfurization process being optional in between. In specific cases, the molten iron from the cupola is sent to a Iron scrap melting furnace to complete melting (two-step process). After the molten iron leaves the coreless furnace or the channel induction furnace, it is transported by ladle to the pouring position. Melting in a spherical furnace is rarely the case.
